Interested in singing with Mixed Company?
You’ve come to the right place!
We are looking for singers who:
have had some experience as part of an a cappella chorus, quartet, or other small ensemble
have strong awareness of intonation and can maintain pitch independently
have the ability and desire to blend with an ensemble
sing with a free tone (without tension) throughout their range, and use limited vibrato
are committed to putting in the work both during and outside of rehearsals and to attending both rehearsals and performances
Mixed Company is an audition-only chorus, so prospective (and current) members must all go through an audition process.
How does the audition process work?
If you haven't already done so, schedule a visit to one of our rehearsals with the audition team to see what we're all about.
Read our Prospective Member Guide to learn more about how our chorus works and the expectations of members
If you’re interested in singing with us, please complete this form and submit it with a sample of you singing (see the form for details). Our audition coordinator will contact you. If you haven't already visited rehearsals, they will suggest available dates so you can check us out in person. If you have visited, they will get you set up with music and learning media for your audition.
From there, the Audition Team will work with you to schedule your audition.
During your audition we will test your vocal range with some exercises at the piano and you will sing the 2 audition pieces along with the practice tracks. The audition will also be video recorded.
