Karen is relatively new to the world of barbershop, having joined City of Lakes Chorus in 2017, after previously singing almost all other genres from jazz to gospel to opera to "piano bench" music. She has an MM degree in voice from the University of Maryland and a BA from Luther College. She joined Mixed Company in 2021.
Karen has worked in the Bishop's office for the Episcopal Church in Minnesota for over twenty years, working with congregations and clergy in transition, Due to her longevity, she pretty much does "other duties, as assigned" - which some day, will be the title of her autobiography.
